"Our flight was Dan Air, they hired an old bomber, they didn't have a plane anywhere, we flew in that…and came here the next day at 5 o'clock… it was February, it was cold, dark…at the back of my mind was the security of my family, that was most important, ..when I passed through passports at Gatwick he said, 'You are welcome to your country'…I felt so happy…"
