TARA KIDZ

TARA KIDZ equips children to make connections across cultures, broadening the imaginations of the young citizens of tomorrow. It uses the magic of theatre to bring the great stories of the world to children in junior schools nationally and internationally.

The stories are presented with all the vibrancy and colour associated with Asian performance techniques - including music, movement, and imaginative props.

As a result of the 50% cut to our funding by Arts Council England, effective from April, we are forced to suspend our touring to junior schools this year. We have been exploring ways to continue our range of work but, sadly, have had to accept that, in the short-term, this is unlikely. We are confident of attracting private support, but this will take time to develop.

We will be focusing on a tour of Shakespeare’s RICHARD III early next year. In the run-up to the show, we will be undertaking a variety of workshop-cum-presentations of Shakespeare’s play for junior school students. If you think this scheme could be useful for your school, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
