We are committed to environmental sustainability in all aspects of our work and continually look to improve.
Tara Theatre
The theatre building features 2 Sedum ('Green') roofs, natural ventilation, air-source heating and air handling plant, 7,500 reclaimed London bricks (from the orginal, 1891 building), low emission glass argon-filled sealed units for traditional sash windows, LED lighting throughout, wooden floors, reclaimed railway sleepers and teak-wood Indian doors.
Solar Panels
We have 16 solar panels fitted, generating energy to power the building.
Ticketing
We encourage all bookers to select the print-at-home option and simply store this on your smart phone or tablet to show at the door when you arrive.
Recycling
We have an active recycling policy. Materials are recycled or refurbished to reduce waste. We also use FSC approved office paper, flyers and tickets.
Local Produce
Where possible we sell locally produced supplies in our Foyer Bar, including beer.
Public Transport
We encourage the use of public transport by visiting artists, audiences, visitors and staff.
Set Recycling
All Tara show sets are recycled or re-used.
