A wonderful evening of musical traditions with She’Koyokh; connecting India and Europe
Tues 4 December, 7.30pm
She’Koyokh, “the UK’s finest klezmer and Balkan band” (Evening Standard) team up with Europe’s foremost South Indian violinist, Jyotsna Srikanth, “a major instrumentalist of vision and imagination” (fROOTS), for a unique collaboration inspired by the wonderful musical traditions connecting India and Europe.
Through their own distinct musical languages, eight musicians bring together a caravan of Eastern European sounds spiced with soulful Ashkenazi, Sephardic and Indian Jewish melodies, Gypsy themes, South Indian rhythms, Carnatic improvisation and original compositions.
Bombay Bhel (veg/vegan) Veggie Samosa’s with chutney (veg/vegan) to accompany the festive show. You can order delicious Indian vegetarian street food per head from award-winning Wandsworth restaurant, Chit Chaat Chai by adding it to your basket. Finger food served before or after the show at Tara. £6 per head.
