Ernest Ignatius Singer
Ernest’s career as a performer began in Bangalore, India, in 1966. He and his young family came to the UK in 1979.
An accomplished singer, Ernest made his West End debut in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s production of Bombay Dreams (written by Meera Syal) in 2003. In 2007 he toured with the Rifco Arts production of There’s Something about Simmy. He made his RSC debut as Antonio in Much Ado About Nothing in 2012 and more recently played Hakim in Domestic Crusaders for Tara Arts.
His first TV appearance was in Meera Syal’s BBC drama Life Isn’t All Ha Ha He He. This was followed by roles in The Bill, Bradford Riots, Murphy’s Law, Citizen Khan, Coronation Street and an episode of Hotel Babylon in which he played the guest lead.
Movie appearances include Shamim Sarif’s I Can’t Think Straight, Bollywood’s Vivek Agnihotri’s Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal. A number of Short Films, one of which Corner Shop ---Director George Hamilton won ‘Best Dramatic Short’, European Independent Film Festival 2012 in Paris.
