A REHEARSED READING
17 APRIL 7.45pm
Dead Leaf Theatre present a rehearsed reading of their new play Celtic Sisters by Katie Coull.
Celtic Sisters is set in 1947 London. An Irish girl and a Scottish girl escape their small towns, controlling mothers and Catholicism for something bigger. They find each other amongst the smog and form an immediate connection in the city full of foreigners. These girls don’t have oceans between them and their families, but Fionna and Niamh are far enough away to feel lonely.
Celtic Sisters looks at abortion, equality and the strength of women... and that fuzzy feeling you get when you think about your best friend.
Dead Leaf Theatre, an all-female company based in London, have been producing and performing original work since 2015. Their passion is making work that gives a voice to other women, and the LGBTQ community.
