Forgotten Women Workshop - Flashback Fiction Showcase

Sharon Eckman is an experienced actor, singer, writer and workshop facilitator. She has performed in plays from Arthur Miller to Joe Orton, musicals from Stephen Sondheim to Rogers & Hammerstein and many concerts and recordings as a soloist. As a writer, she won the Time Out Travel Writer of the Year award and her non-fiction has appeared in broadsheets and magazines; fiction has been published in journals and short and long-listed for several prizes.
Cathy Galvin has roots in Tooting and Cornwall. A journalist, she has worked on staff for Newsweek and the Sunday Times, where she founded the Sunday Times Short Story Award. She is founder and director of the UK's leading promoter of short fiction, the Word Factory. Her poetry has appeared in newspapers, journals and anthologies and she is the recipient of a Hawthornden Fellowship. She has published two collections of poems with the Melos Press, Black and Blue and Rough Translation. Further work is due to be published by the Guillemot Press in 2019. She is currently embarking on a poetry PhD at Goldsmiths, University of London.
Emily Devane is an award-winning writer and teacher, whose short fiction has been published widely in anthologies and journals. A former Word Factory apprentice and Northern Writers' Award winner, Emily's work has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net; her Bath Flash Fiction Award first placed story was selected as a Best Small Fictions Finalist. Emily has a degree in history; she is on the editing team at FlashBack Fiction, where she combines her love of short fiction with all things historical.
