Intangible Heritage Conference
Sat 23 March
How and why should living heritage be preserved?
Storytelling, performing arts, social customs and practices, rituals and festive events, healing systems, crafts, culinary traditions, fishing and music are just some of the living traditions of the UK’s vast intangible cultural heritage.
In response to the need for more information on safeguarding traditions, the Conference will be a platform to explore how communities, civil society, arts and heritage organisations can help to promote and pass on our customs to next generations.
The Conference was informed by an Arts Council supported project implemented by the Committee on “Exploring Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Museum Contexts”.
