‘Ivan’ is a one man physical comedy about the tragic life of the failed dancer Ivan Popczieski. Ivan lived in his village, the little fishing village of Kurtankall, and this village had no place for this strange performer and his ill-behaved tutu, whose name was Tootoo. Ivan and Tootoo were banished from the village but fate was on their side as Ivan had found a map to a floating stage somewhere on the ocean that was a refuge for lost dancers, unbalanced tight rope walkers and tone deaf musicians. A safe haven where these exiled losers can find their talents again. Whether this refuge exists or not, nobody knows and no one has seen or heard from Ivan since his exile 10 years ago. All we know is that his 90 year old mother, in her tiny tub-boat (actually her bath) fishes for a blue whale every day and with only a tiny piece of string. The villagers say she has gone mad with the disappearance of her son.
