Lucifer- rehearsed reading

Lucifer from a female perspective

Wednesday 27 September 7.30pm

“If it is fate that I shall fall, stripped of honour and state, Then let me fall. Let me fall with an honorary trail of trustees, with many thousands by my side”

When God creates a new world, Lucifer and her fellow angels feel pushed aside, betrayed. When they are told they will have to serve another man, all hell breaks loose.

Lucifer is HenriĆ«tte Rietveld’s new take on the Angelic wars, an adaptation of Joost van den Vondel’s 17th century Dutch classic, combined with other sources such as Milton’s Paradise Lost.

This new play explores the ancient myth from a female perspective. Written for an all-female cast, Lucifer questions the stories we have been told about what happened before the beginning of time.

Tara Arts and CONVEY's rehearsed reading includes video art and six fabulous actors.
