Start-Up Saturdays with the National Youth Theatre
A Saturday class for 11-14 year-olds from the National Youth Theatre
Saturdays from September - December
Too young to audition?
Take part in the National Youth Theatre’s only weekly Saturday class for 11-14s. Tear up the script, experience the thrill of a silent rave or devise your own play featuring your favourite TV character! Led by experienced NYT associate artists, Start-Up Saturdays encourages young people to put their passion for performance and idea’s into action. Across a ten -week term, participants explore storytelling, devising theatre, movement, music and character. The final week of term is open to family and friends to see a sharing of the work. The programme is ideal for those wishing to develop an early interests in performance before auditioning to become a member of the company.
Terms are led by a variety of NYT directors and associate artists offering an assortment of practice in every session, so young people can attend more than one term and learn different skills and techniques. While course dates and term times are fixed, we do appreciate 100% attendance isn’t always possible and welcome participants to join in even if the term has already started. The final sharing of work is an informal, non-compulsory event, while we encourage as many participants as possible to be involved. All abilities welcome.
Cost | 10 week term: £259
