Bringing a Wandsworth War Memorial to Life
23 February 6.15pm
Geoff Simmons talks about Summerstown182, a unique community history project which over the past three years has been dedicated to telling the individual stories behind 182 names on a war memorial in a local church. In doing so, much has been discovered about life in this area one hundred years ago and the effects that the First World War had on it.
This illustrated talk runs for an hour and you are welcome to ask questions at the end. Seating is unreserved in the Tara Studio, drinks and snacks may be purchased from the bar from 6pm.
As 2017 is the 70th year of India and Pakistan’s Independence, Tara is marking this anniversary by presenting 70 exciting and extraordinary stories. #Tara7070
