Tara and zerOclassikal present Kitha Nadarajah
Exploring the classic compositions of the trinity
Sunday 19 November
Kitha Nadarajah is one of the UK’s most sought after British Carnatic violinists.
Her unique style of playing comes from her classical training in the Carnatic (south Indian) style of music. In this performance she explores the classic compositions of the trinity.
She has performed all over the UK at many festivals, including the Darbar Festival and the London International Arts Festival, and in India and the USA.
Kitha started learning under her guru Smt. Kalaivani Indrakumar. She has undergone further training from Kalaimamani M. Nandini and continues to do so with Sri H.N. Bhaskar. She was a member of the national ensemble Tarang and was Orchestra leader for SAMYO (South Asian Music Youth Orchestra) and is currently a member of the band Project 12. Her work within Carnatic music has led her to create the live-streamed concert series Raga Room which is an effort to extend Carnatic music to the global community.
Kitha will be accompanied by:
Janakan Srirangan - Miruthangam
Janarthan Sivarupan - Kanjira
Mithushan Sivagurunathar - Morsing
