Women of The Mahabharata: Blind Love
What's it feel like to pin all your hopes on a son?
Friday 30 November, 7.30pm
As part of our ongoing focus on reclaiming the great Indian epic, The Mahabharata, this is the second sharing of a work-in-development. It presents the story of Ganga, who rose from the river, drowned seven of her children and started the epic story with the eighth.
Based on a version written by novelist Kamila Shamsie for our sharing in May, this work-in-progress features live music by Sohini Alam (vocals) and Hassan Mohyeddin (percussion) and actors Josephine Welcome, Antony Bunsee, Medhavi Patel & Umar Pasha.
